XCI SmartZone Controls

XCI SmartZone ControlsToday’s homes require special consideration in order to maintain uniform comfort throughout.  Ideally, there should be no more than a 2°F temperature difference between any two rooms at any given time according to the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA).

One of the most popular residential applications for zoning is a bonus room or FROG (finished room over garage).  Without a separate zone thermostat, comfort is impossible in a bonus room.  The constant year round complaint about Bonus Rooms without a thermostat is, “It’s Too Hot”.

Rambling floor plans where rooms are exposed to morning or afternoon sun, present special indoor temperature control problems.  Maybe you just want your master bedroom to be cooler than the rest of the house.  Zoning is the solution for desired climate control in each of these applications.

XCI SmartZone Controls

Commercial buildings have many of the same challenges as homes when it comes to maintaining comfort.  Often a large commercial heating/cooling unit provides heating and cooling for rooms with different comfort requirements.  For instance, an office with a southwest exposure will be affected by afternoon sun while offices on the opposite side of the building will be affected by morning sun.  Offices in the center core of the building are not affected by sunlight.  Heating and cooling requirements change throughout the day.

Computers, copiers and other office equipment can add heat to the room creating a greater need for cooling than other areas of the same size.  Not everybody is comfortable at the same temperature.  With zoning, private offices can have different temperatures within a reasonable range.

Zoning with multiple thermostats controlling a single heating/cooling unit is the solution for maintaining indoor temperature to fit individual needs.  Zoning provides ultimate comfort by providing heating and cooling where and when you desire by locating multiple zone thermostats in critical areas.

CC750 Comfort Center Variable Indoor Speed Controller

ICM Controls

Maximize your comfort for less with the new, multi award-winning CC750 Comfort Control Center.  As recently seen on the hit television show, “Designing Spaces”, the Comfort Control Center can make your existing air conditioning or heat pump system more effective at removing and controlling humidity levels in your home. The resulting drier air allows for higher set point temperatures while improving the overall perception of comfort. Think of it in terms of taking a hot shower. Even though you may have the exhaust fan running, the air inside can still get steamy. The fan is just not enough. Now open the bathroom door. The cool sensation you feel when the steamy air is removed is similar to the added comfort you can experience as the Comfort Control Center removes the excess moisture…FROM YOUR ENTIRE HOME!

The fully programmable Comfort Control Center works by intelligently controlling your system’s blower motor speed based on the unique environmental conditions in your home. By allowing the warm, humid air to stay in contact longer with your system’s evaporator coil, the Comfort Control Center improves your system’s effectiveness at removing moisture from the air…with greater system efficiencies. Additionally, when used in conjunction with a system equipped with advanced IAQ devices, the CC750 also allows these devices to operate more effectively, making it ideal for asthma or allergy sufferers. During colder months, the CC750 will even provide warmer air discharge temperatures for homes equipped with a heat pump.

Why spend thousands of dollars on upgrades or a new variable speed system when the CC750 Comfort Control Center can deliver year-round, in-home comfort – effectively, efficiently and for a fraction of the price?

Energy Recovery Ventilators (ERVs)

Studies show that the Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) of the average home can be up to 100 times more polluted than outdoor air.*

Invisible pollutants produced by common household substances, plus dust and excess humidity that gets trapped in today’s houses, can increase your risk of chronic respiratory illness and your home’s risk of serious structural damage.

Central ventilation and filtration effectively eliminate airborne pollutants and excess humidity.

Venmar  manufacturers three types of Energy Recovery Ventilators (ERVs) to provide your home with fresh clean air in every room of your house throughout the year:

  • DUO 1.2, 1.4 or 1.9 - Highest industry rated Total Recovery Efficiency (TRE) **
  • CONSTRUCTO 1.0, 1.5 or 2.0 – Compact cross-core ERV
  • HEPA 4100 - ERV with HEPA*** filtration removes 99.97% of 0.3 micron particles.

Venmar ERV units expel polluted and humid air from your home to the outside and replace it fresh air several times a day.

Respiratory ailments, often attributed to poor air quality, represent the third largest cause of death in the U.S., ranking only behind heart disease and cancer, according to the American Medical Association.  Removing harmful particles and chemicals plus removing pollutants, pollen, mold and mildew from the air you breathe is the key to cleaner, healthier air.

Polarized-Media Electronic Air Cleaners

Dynamic Air QualityDynamic Air Cleaners offer unparalleled 97% capture efficiency of 0.3 micron particle  sizes using a unique patented combination or air scrubbing, electrostatic polarization and activated carbon and thus, providing clean, healthy air in your home or office.  1” panels fit directly into existing filter grilles or filter racks and are powered using simple 24 volt wiring connected to the central HVAC system.  No cells or filters to wash.  Just periodically replace the polarized charcoal media.

Advanced Germicidal PCO System

The Dynamic Advanced PCO System destroys pollutants using ultraviolet light in a three step process.  First, the pollutant adsorbs the surface of the catalyst.  The pollutant and catalyst are then exposed to the photons of the UV light.  The light energy activates the catalyst which breaks down the pollutant into non toxic products.  Odors and vapors are vaporized by the UV light in much the same way that a drop of cold water is vaporized when it drops into a hot skillet.  Germicidal UV lamps without the PCO advantage are also available.

Many homes suffer from excessive humidity and/or poor ventilation, which may lead to an increase in allergens such as mold.  Studies have shown that dust mites and mold are two of the most common allergens present in higher humidity climates.  Excessive humidity in the crawlspace can lead to serious deterioration of wood and even buckling floors.

SantaFe Crawlspace Dehumidifiers

Santa–Fe dehumidifiers are free standing and designed specifically for crawl spaces. Controlling humidity is crawlspaces is a critical component of overall humidity control.

UltraAire Whole House Ducted Dehumidifiers

Therma-StorUltra–Aire ducted models are designed for the whole house by combining dehumidification with filtered fresh air.  After the fresh air is filtered and airborne particles are removed, the blended combination of fresh air and existing air within the home is dehumidified to ensure relative humidity in the home remains below 50%, the level at which mold and dust mites cannot survive.
